December 14, 2021, Moscow - Federal satellite operator Orion and subsidiary Eutelsat S.A. - satellite communications operator Konnect, Russia - launched a joint provision of high-speed satellite Internet services for private users who cannot get a high-quality broadband connection. The service will be offered to existing Telekarta subscribers (brand of Orion Group of Companies) living in the coverage area of the satellite operator Konnect, Russia: in the European part of the Russian Federation to the regions bordering the Far Eastern Federal District.

As part of the agreements reached, Orion Group of Companies provides its agent network for the sale of satellite equipment required to connect satellite Internet services. The company also provides the first line of technical support for subscribers and installers based on the Orion Connect contact center. Satellite Internet services and tariffication are provided by the satellite operator Konnect, Russia.

The equipment will be sold at a subsidized price per set for 9,990 rubles. Subscribers will be offered unlimited and package tariffs with speeds up to 100 Mbps and cost from 1,990 rubles per month. For subscribers who have a valid contract with Orion Group of Companies and who are connecting the satellite Internet service for the first time, special conditions are provided: cashback in the amount of 30% within the first 6 months.

Commenting on the launch of the new service, Orion General Director Kirill Makhnovsky noted: Orion is very interested and enthusiastic about partner projects that create additional value for our subscribers, relying on the existing infrastructure and technical capabilities of the satellite media platform. The project with the satellite operator Konnect, Russia is just about that. I am sure it will be useful to all participants and will have a positive effect on the development of the subscriber base and dealer network. "

Dmitry Bronner, CEO of Konnect, Russia, drew attention to the fact that the new service is being implemented as part of one of the strategic directions of Eutelsat's development - providing Internet to households who find it difficult to get a decent connection. “Cooperation with Telekarta is an important opportunity for us to make high-speed Internet access available to an even larger number of Russian residents, including those in remote and hard-to-reach areas.”
